Review of Bad Dragonflies

What do you get when you have one hungry frog, one smart ant, and a whole lot of dragonflies? You and your child zooming, buzzing, crawling, squashing, and gobbling as you giggle your way through "Bad Dragonflies."

In "Bad Dragonflies," Ant teaches Gus, the hungry frog, just why frogs have such long tongues, while saving herself from becoming Gus’ meal.

C.S. Davidson’s "Bad Dragonflies" is an enchanting read. Berin Uriegas’ illustrations are beautiful. Together they bring a story that will have families laughing and being silly.

Poems Published!

I’m possitively tingling with excitement! It's unreal being able to announce the acceptance of An Eyeball in My Garden--And Other Spine-Tingling Poems. It’s a middle grade poetry anthology containing forty four poems written by fourteen members of the Poets' Garage critique group--and includes several of my own. Yes! It will be a black-and-white illustrated, 64-page book published by Marshall Cavendish Children's Books, currently scheduled for release on July 15th, 2010. All of the poets featured in the book are good friends of mine and many are also Blue Boarders. Hoot! Hoot!

To Link or not to Link

I wish I knew more about computors. Grrrr! Today I'm trying to learn the art of linking and everything I read makes a lot of sence until I get down to the nitty gritty job of actually creating a link. I imagine that many of you have this same problem when it comes to computor mechanics--sheer panic! But I'm not giving up without a fight. A fight with brains over computor that is. And although I'm sure that one day I'll look back on this learning adventure with some sort of humor (if that's possible?) At least I can chalk it up to just one more thing that I've wrestled with and won!

What's Up?

While I wait on my first picture book "Bad Dragonflies" to come out in the spring of '09, I'm keeping busy with a lot of other writing projects and other things. Haha.
Yeah! To my surprise, today has been pleasently mild for December 19th so I decided to get a few things done that I had been putting off. I had a lot of errands to run but wouldn't you know it--as soon as I was ready to go out the door--rain poured down like it was coming out of a shower head! Oh well, sometimes life has a sneaky way of playing its dirty tricks. Gotta love it.
After two hours in town I finally got back home and made me and my husband a quick sandwich. I find it harder and harder to cook meals lately, with all everything else I have to do during the day. I find myself staying on the computor more and more writing and writing and writing, when, I'm not reading that is.
What have I managed to finish? I have two picture books finished and subbed, my mid-grade novel has been critted and I'm revising it slowly because I'm having to add A LOT of details to take it where its going, and I've been revising another longer mid-grade that is very near completion. As far as poetry goes; I've written three new poems and sent two of them to the Writers Digest Poetry Contest, and the smallest of them a Haiku is yet to be critted by my crit partners. Okay, I'm off now to start dinner and grab a drink before more revising later tonight.

Cheers,
BTW, be sure to check back often for more free stories to read and other updates.
